Who we are

What began in 1960 as an Indian engineering business run by the Sabri family grew into a specialised manufacturer of precision testing equipment. Our entry into the pulp and paper sector in 1970 — through a maintenance and calibration engagement with India's Paper Technology Institute — set the direction the company has followed ever since.

Today UEC designs, manufactures, tests and calibrates instruments for physical property, pulp, packaging, surface-coating and environmental testing, alongside handmade-paper machinery and Prakritik paint plants — built in India and shipped to more than 40 countries.

Our philosophy is simple: customer satisfaction through rigorous quality assurance and continuous improvement, on every instrument that leaves our works.
